1   Complete refurbishment repairs and upgrades on:

  • Valves (Up to 3M diameter)
  • Pumps (Up to 8MW, 3 500 Iiters / second)

The workshop facility is equipped with cranes (15 ton capacity), drills, lapping machines, lathes and pressure testing equipment. The floor space is 1232, 2 m2

The workforce is highly skilled and is capable of handling most known makes of pumps and valves in the water industry (Pumps e.g. Sulzer, APE, KSB, etc — Valves e.g. Right, Ainsworth, Premier, Vosa, etc.)

1.1.             Complete refurbishment, repairs and upgrades

PUMPS

  • All internal components i.e. shafts, bearings, sleeves, impellors, necking and also casings and couplings
  • Efficiency enhancement.
  • Corrosion protection according to client standards.
  • Auxiliary equipment i.e. pipe work and instrumentation.

VALVES

  • All internal components i.e. seats, blades, shafts, bushes and seals.
  • Auxiliary equipment i.e. actuators, gearboxes, etc
     

 2  Site Services

2.1.       Pump Site Services (8 MW, 3500 liters I second Pump sets)

  • The removal, repair, installation, coupling and alignment, commissioning and maintenance of all water related pumps and auxiliaries, such as pipe work, cooling water I oil plant and instrumentation.
  • Condition monitoring of pumps after installation.
  • Enhancement of pump efficiencies via optimizing of plant performance parameters, reverse engineering techniques, as well as application of efficiency inducing internal coatings to pumps.

2.3.       Motor Site Services (Up to 8 MW)

  • The removal, repair, installation, commissioning and maintenance of all water related pump set motors and auxiliaries, such as cooling water/oil pumps, water coolers, instrumentation, etc

2.4    Switchgear Site Services

  • The cleaning, removal, repair, installation, commissioning and maintenance of all water related plant switchgear and auxiliary equipment i.e. D.C. systems, UPS, etc

2.5    General Mechanical Plant

  • The removal, repair, installation, commissioning and maintenance of mechanical plant in general.
  • Condition monitoring of mechanical plant in general.
  • Enhancement of efficiencies via reverse engineering and other techniques on mechanical plant in general.

General Plant Includes

  • Sump pumps, dewatering pumps, pipes, cranes, mechanical structures I supports, dam equipment (sluice gates, hydraulic systems, generators, grating, stop blocks, penstocks radial gates, etc.).

2.6        General Electrical Plant

  • The removal, repair, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical plant in general.
  • General plant includes cabling, transformers, console panels, telemetry and instrumentation, switchgear protection equipment, etc
     

 3  Engineering Services

The following engineering services on Bulk Water related plant can be offered:

  • Efficiency tests on up to 8MW pump sets with the issue of the appropriate test reports.
  • Condition monitoring of up to 8MW pump sets with the issue of appropriate quality test reports.
  • Reports associated with condition of plant, review of modifications and reports I manuals.
  • Endoscope inspections on pump, valve, pipeline internals with the issue of appropriate test reports.
  • Rebuilding of pumps to an alternative specification.
  • Balancing of rotating elements: up to 5 tons.
  • Remetalling of white metal bearings: up to sizes in 8 MW pumpsets.
  • Vibration monitoring on rotating elements of up to 8 MW systems.
  • Non destructive testing using ultra sonic, magnetic particle inspections, dye penetrate testing, hardness testing and radiography methods.
  • Capacitor bank investigations with regard to PCB coolant contamination.
  • Machining facilities: light, medium and heavy machining facilities, fabrication and on site in-situ machining.
  • Corrosion protection coatings as specified (blasting and coating).
  • Water flow meter and pressure I temperature transducer testing and calibration services and general instrumentation.
  • Mechanical, electrical and technical investigation expertise.
  • Finite element analysis techniques in the maintenance engineering field.
  • Mechanical manufacturing in accordance with drawing, of small as well as large structures such as sluice gates.
  • Reverse mechanical engineering techniques.
  • Oil testing and purification facilities (Karl Fischer tests included).
  • Tan Delta tests on electrical motors up to 11 Ky, 8 MW.
  • Underground cable fault location
  • Radio and telemetry equipment.
  • Instruments and computer controlled equipment.

  • Other engineering services as the engineer may specify from time to time.
